October is Adopt a Shelter or Dog Month

Did you know that approximately 7.6 million animals enter shelters every year – 3.9 million dogs and 3.4 million cats? Every year approximately 2.7 million are euthanized and approximately 2.7 million are adopted.*

Here are a few ideas of how you can help:

1. Adopt a shelter dog.
2. Make a donation to your favorite or local shelter.
3. Spread the word on your Facebook or Twitter feed: Adopt a Dog and Save a Life month.
4. Find out if your local shelters need other items donated, for example old towels or bedding.
5. Sign up to foster a dog.
6. Volunteer at a shelter.
