Dog Hotel Near Oakland County, MI
All-Suite Comfort So You Can Travel Without Worry
When you need to be away, you want more than a basic place to drop off your dog. You want a trusted dog hotel Oakland County families rely on, where every stay feels safe, comfortable, and calm for both you and your pup. At All American Pet Resorts Rochester Hills, we created an upscale, all-suite resort that delivers what we call separation without the anxiety.
We understand how stressful it can feel to leave your dog behind, especially if you have only seen traditional kennels with rows of cages and lights off at night. Our resort replaces that picture with spacious, climate-controlled suites, soft bedding, supervised indoor and outdoor play areas, and a team of Pet Care Specialists on-site 24/7/365. You can also check in on your dog through our live webcams for added peace of mind.
From a single daycare visit to an extended vacation, we work to give your dog a safe, engaging, and restful experience, and give you the confidence to focus on your trip or workday. The rest of this page will show you exactly how we do that and what your dog’s time with us looks like from morning to night.
Families across this part of Michigan value convenience, but they also value knowing their dogs are truly cared for while they are working or traveling. Our resort serves dog parents throughout the county who juggle busy commutes, early flights, and weekend getaways and who want a dog kennel that feels more like a boutique hotel than a basic run.
Each All American Pet Resorts location is locally owned, which means you work with a neighborhood team that knows the community and understands how important your dog is to your family. At the same time, our resort follows brand-wide, best-practice training and standards that support consistency in care, safety, and sanitation. You get the personal attention of a local business backed by the strength of a national network.
Our proximity to major routes through the county makes it easier to drop your dog off on the way to the airport or pick them up after a long shift without adding a long detour to your day. Many families return to us because they see the difference when their dogs come home. Guests tend to settle back into their normal routines quickly, which is a strong sign that the balance of activity, rest, and comfort during their stay feels right for them.
What Your Dog’s Stay Looks Like From Morning To Night
When you picture your dog’s day here, we want you to see more than a vague idea of playtime. We want you to understand the rhythm of a typical boarding or daycare visit so you know exactly what to expect. While details can vary by dog and by day, the structure remains consistent and thoughtfully planned.
A Typical Boarding Day
In the morning, dogs wake up in their suites and enjoy their breakfast according to the feeding instructions you provide. After time to digest, they move into supervised group play in our indoor or outdoor spaces, or they enjoy one-on-one interaction if that is a better fit. Playgroups are organized by size, age, and energy and play style so that shy, older, or smaller dogs are not overwhelmed by larger or more enthusiastic friends.
Throughout the day, we alternate active play blocks with quiet rest in suites. These breaks are just as important as playtime, because they help prevent overstimulation and give dogs a chance to nap and reset. In the afternoon, there may be another round of group play or individual attention, followed by dinner served according to your instructions.
Thoughtful Playtime, Rest, & Socialization
Social time can be one of the best parts of a stay, but only when it is supervised and thoughtfully matched. Many dog parents worry about group play after hearing stories of crowded yards or mismatched personalities. Our daycare and boarding programs are built to avoid that.
Supervised Playgroups
Our Pet Care Specialists organize playgroups by size, age, and energy and play style. Younger, high-energy dogs may enjoy more active, playful sessions, while older or quieter pups spend time with dogs whose style is more relaxed. Staff members remain in the play areas to monitor body language, guide interactions, and step in when a dog needs a breather.
Built-In Breaks & Safe Enrichment
Balanced downtime is just as important as activity. Between play blocks, dogs return to their suites for quiet breaks, water, and rest. This pattern helps prevent exhaustion, overexcitement, and the kind of stress that can make group environments difficult for some dogs.
When it comes to enrichment items, we may offer safe, Nylabone-type chews that meet our resort’s safety criteria. We always reserve the right to approve what is used so that group safety comes first. Our goal is that your dog comes home satisfied and relaxed. Families often notice that their dogs settle more easily after a structured day of appropriate exercise and rest compared to unstructured, constant activity.
Comfort For Seniors, Special-Needs Dogs, & First-Time Boarders
If your dog has medical needs, is getting older, or has never stayed away from home before, choosing the right place can feel especially stressful. We keep those families in mind with the way we plan care and communication. Our all-suite layout, quiet rest periods, and constant staffing can be especially helpful for dogs who need a gentler pace.
Medication & Feeding Routines
Our team can administer medications according to your written instructions. This can include daily pills, certain topical medications, or specific diet types that you already use at home. We encourage you to share as much detail as possible with us.
Adjusting Activity For Individual Needs
Some dogs, especially seniors or first-time guests, may do best with shorter or less intense group play sessions. Because staff are here overnight, we can also check on guests who may need extra reassurance.
If we notice anything about a dog’s comfort or behavior that you might want to discuss with your veterinarian, we will let you know. We know it takes trust to leave a dog who needs a little extra support. Our focus is always on making their stay, and your time away, as calm and predictable as possible.
Health, Safety, & Sanitation In Every Suite & Play Yard
Cleanliness and safety are nonnegotiable when it comes to shared pet spaces. We built our resort environment to support both immediate comfort and long-term wellness for our guests. That starts from the ground up with joint-friendly flooring that offers traction and cushioning, which helps protect paws and joints during running, spinning, and quick turns.
Facility Design For Wellness
Surfaces throughout the resort receive antimicrobial treatments that support our sanitation efforts and help reduce germs and odors. We pair these materials with advanced air-exchange systems designed to keep fresh air moving and to manage humidity and smells. The result is a space that feels and smells clean, not like a crowded dog kennel.
Daily Cleaning & Ongoing Monitoring
Our team follows comprehensive cleaning protocols for suites, play areas, and common spaces. We disinfect suites between guests, manage waste promptly, and clean high-touch surfaces regularly. Because staff remain on-site at all hours, we can stay attentive to spills or messes as they happen instead of waiting until morning.
All these details work together to give dogs a healthy place to play and rest, and to give you confidence in the environment you are choosing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will someone be with my dog overnight?
Yes. Our Pet Care Specialists stay on-site around the clock, including overnight. That means your dog is never left alone in the building, and there is always a staff member available to monitor guests, respond to noises, and provide late-night potty breaks when appropriate. Continuous staffing helps us notice if a dog seems uncomfortable or needs attention outside of normal hours. Many pet parents tell us this is one of the main reasons they feel comfortable choosing our resort instead of a traditional facility that closes at night.
How will you keep my dog safe during group play?
We keep dogs safe during social time by planning playgroups thoughtfully and supervising them closely. Our team organizes groups by size, age, and energy and play style so that dogs are paired with companions who make sense for them. During play, our Pet Care Specialists stay in the yard or playroom to watch interactions, guide games, and step in if a dog needs a short break.
Can you follow my dog’s feeding and medication routine?
We can follow your dog’s feeding and medication instructions as part of their daily care. During your reservation process, we will ask you to share details about meal timing, food type, and any medications your dog takes, along with how and when they should be given.
What will my dog do all day at your resort?
Your dog’s day includes a mix of activity, social time, and rest. After breakfast in their suite, they will enjoy supervised play in our indoor or outdoor areas, either in a carefully matched group or with more individual attention if that suits them better. Play sessions are followed by quiet breaks in their suite for napping and recharging.
Can I watch my dog on camera while I am away?
Yes. We offer live webcams in designated play or common areas so you can check in on your dog during their stay. This feature is part of our commitment to transparency and to helping you feel connected even when you are not physically with your dog. Many pet parents enjoy taking a quick look during a break at work or while on a trip to see their dog playing or resting comfortably.
If you are ready to plan your dog’s stay at our dog kennel, call (248) 453-7099 and our team will be happy to help.

Our dog loves daycare! The staff is warm and friendly. They recognize Hickory the moment he walks through the door and always take the time to greet him with pets and a little extra love. Seeing how excited he is when we walk through their doors tells me everything I need to know.
